10 top trends from 2012 horizon report

2 02 2012

Trend 9 “There is a rise in informal learning as individual needs are redefining schools, universities, and training. As a result, credibility, validity, and control are all notions that are no longer givens when so much learning takes place outside school systems” particularly attracted my attention and as has been commented by Elaine Heumann Gurian and others, represents a unique opportunity for museums.
I believe we are seeing the beginning of the end curriculum driven, 9am-3pm, one-size-fits-all schooling.
